JOSAXIN is indicated for treatment for infections caused by susceptible Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Streptococcus pneumonia, Shigella sp., Haemophilus influenza, and Mycoplasma sp. Including Superficial skin infection, deep skin infection, lymphangitis/lymphadenitis, chronic pyoderma, secondary infection of trauma, burn, or surgical wounds etc., mastitis, pharyngolaryngitis, tonsillitis, acute bronchitis, pneumonia, secondary infection of chronic respiratory lesions, cystitis, epididymitis, infective enter colitis, dacryocistitis, hordeolum, otitis externa, otitis media, sinusitis, suppurative sialo adenitis, periodontal tissue inflammation, pericoronitis, maxillary sinusitis, gnathitis, scarlet fever.
Dosage and Administration
Adults; 0.8–2.0 g of JOSAXIN daily, taken in 2 or 3 single doses.
Children; 30–50 mg/kg of JOSAXIN daily, taken in 3 or 4 single doses.
JOSAXIN is contraindicated in patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to the drug substance or other components of the product.
Pregnancy and Lactation
There is limited information on the use of Josamycin in pregnancy. This product should only be used in pregnant women and women suspected of being pregnant provided that the expected therapeutic benefits outweigh the possible risk of treatment.
Since this product is excreted into breast milk in humans, nursing mothers should consult their physician.
Ability to drive and use machinery
A box of 20 tablets each contains 500mg Josamycin.
